The 'Seudah' (meal)

No time to loaf about...

We're married already, so let's go eat...
Now it's time for the meal.
Everybody gets to sit down between dances... for a while.

The Chosson makes the traditional blessing over bread, and it is regarded as a good thing to have some of the loaf which he has blessed. The Seudah, being a religious Jewish event, is punctuated by prepared speeches, usually on biblical topics, with references being made to the Chosson and Kallah by people who know them, and by their Rabbis. The Chosson and Kallah usually try to speak to family and friends amongst their guests during the meal.
