So
what is this Chametz Stuff that all the fuss is about?
Chametz
is defined in the Torah as the product of fermentation, such as bread,
and anything that contains wheat or the "five grains", or other dough
that might rise, is banned during Pesach. Of course, there is
Chametz, suspected Chametz, and things that are prohibited because they
might be or could contain Chametz.
Some
things that might be Chametz can be rendered non-Chametz by making them
inedible by adding detergent or bleach. For example, anything
that a dog would not eat is not Chametz (and we all know what fussy
eaters dogs are, don't we...)
Notice:
Jacobs World does NOTclaim to have any Halachic Authority, so
if in doubt, don't do what we say - because we really are only
joking!
